According the NY Post, Mayor Bloomberg's administration is ramping up its campaign against
alcohol abuse. The city Health Department will be conducting a 50-question telephone survey to get a better handle on the level of alcohol abuse in the city. BCS applauds any effort by a city to gain a better understanding of its citizens.
As we mentioned before,
teenage drinking is on the rise in NYC. Alcohol related visits by teenagers to emergency rooms has nearly doubled since 2007. Additionally, 25% of those age 12 to 20 report drinking alcohol.
