Unfortunate news coming out of Miami where the executive chef of the Shore Club was the victim of a hit-and-run accident and later died. The driver was a 20 year old employee of Nikki Beach were she was supposedly served alcohol before the accident. The family of the Shore Club chef filed a lawsuit against Nikki Beach over the chef's wrongful death.
Although venues take necessary precautions against underage drinking by patrons at their bar or nightclub, these same precautions should be taken against underage drinking by employees. Additionally, if employees are over 21 and drinking after work, they should not be allowed to drive home.
